Oropher, Sindarin lord and father of Thranduil, stands as one of the great Elven rulers of the Second Age. Leaving the influence of the Noldor behind, he established his realm among the Silvan Elves of Greenwood the Great, where he ruled as their king. Proud and independent, Oropher would ultimately lead his people into the War of the Last Alliance, where he fell in battle against the forces of Sauron.
