Driven by grief and fury after witnessing the brutal death of his brother Gelmir, Gwindor of Nargothrond led his warriors in a desperate charge against Morgoth's forces. His assault shattered the enemy's forward ranks and carried the warriors of Nargothrond toward the very gates of Angband, setting in motion the tragic events of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad — the Battle of Unnumbered Tears.
